A series of evenings covering the basics of Christian faith - for you if you are exploring Christian faith, returning to church, or would like a refresher in the language of today. Our sessions will focus on Christian practices of spirituality and prayer. We will learn about and practice meditation based on word-prayers, silence, creativity, body-prayers, and more. A series of 7 sessions beginning Wednesday, February 12.
We begin with a light supper of soup, bread and cheese at 6:30 p.m. (We take turns making the soup!) This is an optional part of the evening and is especially helpful for those coming directly from work.
The text for our sessions is "The Path to your Door" by Ellen Clark-King, Associate Priest at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver. "This is an excellent book for all spiritual seekers, especially those who want to live and pray with the insights of great Christian teachers as well as acquiring knowledge about them." From a review by Angela Ashwin, Author of ‘Faith in the Fool: Risk and Delight in the Christian Adventure‘
You are welcome to participate in Christianity 101 Part 2. It is not required that you have already participated in Part 1 (which will be offered again later this year). You do not have to be a member of St. Anne's to participate.
Wednesdays: February 5 to April 23. We will miss a couple weeks (for March Break) and conclude the week before Holy Week.
