posted 7 Apr 2016, 09:25 by Gary van der Meer   [ updated 26 Apr 2016, 10:13 ]

Join the worldwide observance of Earth Day, as we celebrate the planet’s environment and raise public awareness about pollution. The Choir of St. Anne’s, with The Junction Trio and special guest Alejandro Cespedes, founder of Arrollando Carnaval Ensemble perform beautiful music from Paul Halley’s Freedom Trilogy and Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass to honour the occasion.

Arrollando (pronounced Ah-roh-yando) is a project that honours and nurtures Cuban Carnaval traditions, a genre that combines vibrant percussion, a harmonious horn section, call and response singing, as well as energetic dancing. Participation is encouraged-- prepare to be swept off your feet by the infectious rhythms and energy!

A workshop led by Alejandro will follow immediately after the concert. FREE ADMISSION-- Pay what you can!
