The Most Important Book left out of the Bible: A Lecture - Wednesday, May 27, 7:30 p.m.

Have you heard that there were books that did not get included in the Bible? In our series, “How the Bible became our Scriptures” we have learned about the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament), Intertestamental Books (the Apocrypha), and the New Testament. But what about these “rejected” books, what are they about? Were they rejected?

Our evening will summarize these books, with a special focus on the most important book left out of the bible. It’s called The Didache, or The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles.

It’s a short book, so you can even read it before our lecture. Here are the links to two online translations: http://www.paracletepress.com/didache.html or http://www.thedidache.com/

Lecture by the Rev. Canon David Neelands, Dean of Divinity at Trinity College, Toronto.

Join us on Wednesday, May 27 at St. Anne’s Ministry Centre, 276 Gladstone Avenue.

Lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. You are welcome to come for supper beforehand, from 6:30 p.m.
