Tour & Worship Field Trip: St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church - Saturday, April 4, 3:00 p.m. **POSTPONED**

Come along for a first visit to our sister church! St. Anne's and St. Helen's both began from land donated by the same family. The Macdonnell family, prompted by a mixed Anglican and Roman Catholic marriage, provided an acre for each church. While the marriage brought together a couple from two different church traditions, our two parish churches have mostly walked a separate path. Now we are coming together.
Father John Cabral of St. Helen's invites the St. Anne's community and friends for a tour. The present St. Helen's (their second building), is a listed Toronto heritage building by architect Arthur W. Holmes. It was constructed in 1909 (with the steeple added in 1924). Our tour is an opportunity to explore future collaboration.

The session will conclude with a time of worship. We will be introduced to a style of meditative prayer known as Eucharistic Adoration. Widely practiced in the Roman Catholic tradition, and increasingly well known as part of Anglican spirituality, this style of prayer consists of sitting in silence before the tabernacle or a monstrance containing the reserved sacrament.

All are welcome to join us for this experience. Meet us at St. Helen's Church!
