Book Evening: "Can you say ...Hero?" - Wednesday, March 25, 7:00 p.m. **MEETING ONLINE - see link**
Post date: Jun 9, 2014 5:26:35 PM
Loving our Neighbours is so basic to the way we practice Christianity at St. Anne's. Let's do deeper with the great inspiration for neighbours, Mr. Rogers! The movie "A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood" is adapted from a story that appeared in the magazine Esquire. Journalist Lloyd Vogel, is a cynical writer who became determined to expose Rogers' friendly persona as an act. Instead, his own life is transformed by the compassion he experiences from Mr. Rogers.
For this evening, we are reading, "Can you say ...Hero?" - an article published in the magazine Esquire.

You may also want to watch the movie as part of your preparation for our gathering. See the movie trailer below.
Welcome: The St. Anne's Book Group is open to everyone: members of our community, friends, and newcomers who don't know anything about church. We talk about the book! We like to start with an overview by one of our participants who has read the book. We are very fortunate to have welcomed authors to join us as we talk about their book. It's great if you have read the book; you're also welcome if you have not read the book and want to know more about it. We like to make faith connections to the themes of the book - where possible.
You're welcome to join us before the session for a pot luck supper at 7:00 p.m. (If you're bringing items to prepare, come a bit early)
Discussion begins at 7:30 p.m.
