Lent & Easter 2023

Celebrate Lent & Easter with Us!

Lent and Easter are the most important times of the Christian year. They are the seasons when we remember Jesus' life-giving passion, death, and resurrection. As disciples of Jesus, we walk in his ways and learn from him the way of life. Therefore, we mark these important seasons with special worship opportunities and prayers.

We invite you to join us for these events and to make a holy Lent.

Ash Wednesday: February 22, 7:30 p.m.

Worship with us as we remember our humble beginnings and begin our lenten journey.

Stations of the Cross and Benediction: 7:30 p.m.  on Fridays in Lent at St. Matthias, 45 Bellwoods Ave.

Christians traditionally remember Jesus' journey to the cross by walking in his steps. We invite you to join us as at our neighbouring parish of St. Matthias for this simple observance.

Lent Study Series: Introduction to Christian Liturgy: Tuesdays, March 7, 21, and 28, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Ministry Centre and Online

Although most Christians' experience of Church is through its public prayer and worship, few realise the significance and meaning of what we do each Sunday. Join us for a four-part series, either online or in-person and learn more about Christian worship, it's history, and how liturgy can help you deepen your own spirituality. Our series will culminate with an exploration of the liturgies of Holy Week and Easter, just before we celebrate them here at St. Anne's. Registration for the series will open in the coming days. All are welcome to attend and to participate.

Lenten Concert: Sacred Love: 3:00 p.m. March 26

Mark your calendars and join us on March 26 for a concert of music for the season of Lent. Featuring St. Anne's Choir and soloists Jennifer Krabbe and Laura Schatz and conducted by Mervin Fick, the concert will feature works by Bruckner, Pergolesi and Bach.

Tickets available now for $25. You can get your ticket today by visiting this link. Proceeds from the concert will support the mission and work of St. Anne's.
