About

THIS IS WHO WE ARE!

St. Anne's is a lively Anglican congregation in the west end of downtown Toronto. Our church building is a national historic site, a Byzantine revival church inspired by the architecture of the Hagia Sophia, and the home of the only known religious paintings by Canada's iconic Group of Seven.

We are an inclusive and fully accessible neighbourhood-minded community. All people are welcome to
worship God with us.

We believe God wants a church that cares unselfishly for the good of all. That's the church we strive to be - in Sunday morning worship and through a full calendar of opportunities to learn, experience the arts, and engage the world of nature. We care about justice. We are committed to serving and caring for those in need.

Our ministry team is here for you and always ready to encourage you.

I'm New!

All are welcome at St. Anne's! You can join us for worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. either in-person or by watching online on our YouTube page.

You can also join us on Thursdays for morning prayer at 9:30 a.m., or spend some quiet time between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Directions

By Subway

St. Anne’s is located south of the Dufferin subway station: Take the southbound 29 bus to Dundas Street; walk east one block on Dundas Street and turn left on Gladstone Avenue.  The church is on your left.

By Streetcar

Take the College or Dundas Streetcar from downtown, westbound to Gladstone Avenue; Walk south from College Street or north from Dundas Street.

By Bicycle

From the Martin Goodman Trail: Go through the exhibition grounds and north on Dufferin Street.  After you pass Dundas Street, stop and lock your bike in front of the Parish Hall (on your right), or walk through between the buildings to the church, and lock up against the metal fence.  Enter the church by walking east between the Parish Hall and St. Anne’s Place.

Note that the Ministry Centre (offices and meeting rooms) is located at 276 Gladstone, just north of the church.

From Bloor Street: Go south on Dufferin Street, turn left at Dundas Street; park your bike in front of the Parish Hall; walk between the St. Anne's Place and the Parish Hall to the church.

By Car

Driving from the Lakeshore: Go through the CNE grounds, and turn north on Dufferin Street.  Turn right on Dundas, and make an immediate left on Gladstone Avenue (Note that left turns are not permitted on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Instead turn right on College Street and then right on Gladstone.).

Driving from Bloor Street: Go south on Dufferin Street; turn left on College Street; turn right on Gladstone Avenue. The church is on the west side, and the parking lot to the left of the church.  There are four reserved church parking spots during the week nearest the wheelchair ramp, and all spots are available on Sunday.

Parking

There is a large parking lot on the south side of the building; plenty of room for you if you're driving to St. Anne's on Sunday.

During the week, the parking lot is leased to the chocolate factory across the street. If you are visiting on weekdays, please park in the four marked church spots nearest the wheelchair ramp and side entrance to the church. Due to many truck deliveries to the chocolate factory, parking on Gladstone Avenue is restricted and heavily monitored.

If you are visiting for a funeral, please note the signage and directions for parking.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests for extended parking for local neighbourhood residents.

Accessibility

A wheelchair accessible entrance is located at the side entrance of the church (parking lot entrance) near the Parish Hall.

Wheelchair accessible washroom is located on the main floor to the left of the glass door entrance.

Communion: If you would like the Communion to be brought to your seat, please advise a member
of the Welcome Team.
