Update to the St. Anne's Community

The leadership team of St. Anne's just released an update to parishioners and friends about the progress following the devastating fire in June. We invite you to read the report and to share your questions and thoughts with us.

Submit Names to Our Sunday Prayer List

Each Sunday our community prays for the needs of the Church, the world, country, city, and members of our community during Mass at the time of the Prayers of the People. We invite you to send to us the names of those persons you wish us to remember aloud by name in the Liturgy. You can do so by emailing Fr. Don the names — either full name or simply first name — you wish to be included each Sunday. As always, we encourage you to first ask permission of the person for their name to be said aloud.

Join Our Re-development & Visioning Committee

Members of the parish of St. Anne’s Church are invited to join our Re-development and Visioning Committee. This committee will articulate our values, history, and mission to serve as a guiding document for all future work. We invite you to prayerfully consider joining this committee.

The responsibilities of the committee include:

You are invited to join us for another game-a-thon in support of St. Anne's Church Hall and the repairs needed inside. After two very successful game-a-thons in the past, we thought it would be fun to get together and have another one, only this time in support of St. Anne's. You can either sign-up to raise funds and play games and/or donate to the fundraiser by visiting our Canada Helps page . Be sure to include a message with your donation stating which team member you are sponsoring. You won't want to miss this fun event in support of a good cause. Volunteers Needed to Help Install Floors in Chapel: Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 AM

We are at last taking steps to restore our parish hall chapel into a full, functioning chapel. In addition to electrical work being completed this month and painting in early November, we are in need of volunteers to help us install a simple flooring system into the chapel. If you are available to help please email Shari at shari.ellis@saintanne.ca.

St Anne’s Anglican Church is grateful that Rachel, Michelle and Sheila have offered this performance for the benefit of the Parish. The recital will include Arias and Duets from Purcell, Handel and Mozart, as well as popular selections from Broadway Musicals.

Support St. Anne's and Ensure Our Ministry for Many Years to Come — Donate Today!

We are grateful for your continued support to our church community following the devastating loss of our historic church. Help us rebuild our ministry and create a church that reflects our faith through contemporary Canadian art and through ministry to all people.

You can either contribute directly to us by visting our Canada Helps page by either donating to the General Operating Fund or to the Restoration Fund. We are most in need of support for our general fund, which helps us with our day-to-day operations. Consider setting-up a monthly donation as well.

You can also contribute to the charitable giving GoFundMe Campaign which was launched by one of our members on behalf of the church. You will receive a tax receipt when donating to this campaign.

Please share this widely. We are a church for all people and we will work together with the arts community to be a visible sign of who we are. We thank everyone for their care and generous donations.

Season of Spiritual Renewal

All Christians are called by God to a deep spiritual conversion and renewal, in order to grow more fully in love with God and God's people. Yet many of us aren't entirely sure where and how to begin with developing our spiritual life.

The Diocese of Toronto is calling upon all Anglicans to learn more about prayer and spirituality and to take time to sit with the Living God in prayer and reflection. You can participate in one of the many workships offered this fall for spiritual growth and development. Or you can download Prayers Through the Ages, a booklet collection of prayers for your personal use. There's even a guide to praying the scriptures entitled Through the Scriptures. Copies of these booklets will be available for you in the church after Sundays.

We invite you to download these resources and take advantage of this time to renew your relationship with God.

Join Us for Morning Prayer Every Tuesday & Thursday at 9:30 AM!

Pray with us every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 at the Ministry Centre, located at 276 Gladstone Ave. You can join us in-person or online on our YouTube page.

Resources

Sunday Scripture Readings Online & In-Print

As we continue to work towards more ecologically sustainable practices in our parish, we will share the Sunday readings through a variety of formats. While they will not be included in the worship leaflet, we will have a handful of copies of the readings in the back of the church for you to collect if you wish to follow-along during service or to take home for personal prayer and reflection. You can also read the scripture lessons online by visiting the Anglican Church of Canada's online lectionary. Learn more about each week's readings by visiting Working Preacher, an online commentary provided by Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Pray Morning and Evening Prayer

One of the wonderful gifts of the Anglican Reformation was the introduction of morning and evening prayer for all Christians. Known as the Daily Office, the prayer is a simple time of praying the psalms and contemplating on a scripture reading or two. You can pray the Daily Office online or with your mobile device with apps such as Common Prayer Canada, which is the Book of Common Prayer for the Canadian Church, or the Daily Prayer app from the Church of England, which includes a contemporary version as well as the classic 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Join us Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 in Dufferin-Grove Park or on YouTube as we pray morning prayer.
